Built by LPs, for LPs — with rigor where it counts

PrivateMetrics Meridian is the AI-augmented platform institutional LPs use for private-markets fund investment program decisions and operations. Investment teams use Meridian for decision-support; operations teams use Meridian for program-operations support. Both functions stay with humans; AI is augmentation.

Mission

Give institutional LP investment and operations teams the leverage that programs at scale actually demand. Private-markets allocations have grown faster than the tooling supporting them; Meridian is built to close that gap — for both decisions and operations — without cutting corners on fiduciary rigor.

Vision

Set the standard for AI-augmented platforms supporting institutional LP fund investment program decisions and operations — where every AI output is source-tagged, every decision stays with the human, every operation coordinates with the institution's existing systems of record, and the underlying quantitative engine holds up to investment-committee and audit-committee scrutiny.

Why We Exist

Infrastructure as Mission

Institutional-grade fiduciary analysis has historically been accessible only to organizations that can afford dedicated investment staff, sophisticated consultants, and comprehensive technology platforms. A $100 billion pension fund can retain the best private-markets consultants, field a dedicated investment team, and license multiple analytical systems. A $500 million fund serving equally deserving beneficiaries cannot.

The result is not an efficiency gap — it is a structural inequity in the quality of oversight available to beneficiaries based on the size of the institution managing their assets.

This inequity is addressable at scale through software in a way it never was through consulting. The marginal cost of extending rigorous analytical capability to an additional institution approaches the computational cost of running it, not the human cost of consultant attention. Interpretability-first design means fiduciaries without deep private-markets expertise can act on analysis they can understand, explain, and defend — without hiring the expertise to build it internally.

The commercial case and the mission case are the same argument. The platform is built the way it is because the regulatory and liability environment of institutional fiduciary practice requires it — and because every beneficiary, regardless of the size of the institution overseeing their capital, deserves oversight built on the same analytical foundation.

Research Heritage

Meridian is not a first-draft platform. Its analytical core traces back more than a decade of research into fund economics and portfolio construction.

PrivateMetrics Group's fund simulation capabilities originated from years of academic and practical research into fund economics, portfolio optimization, and risk modeling — spanning all seven private-market asset classes: Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Real Assets, and Secondaries.

The underlying models have been in production since 2013. The current-generation platform combines deep asset-class-specific modeling with five pacing strategies, constrained portfolio optimization, and advanced risk analysis including state-space event-boundary detection.

Today, that research is embedded in the Meridian platform — making institutional-grade fund modeling accessible through an operational interface backed by production-tested analytics.

What Drives the Platform

Four principles show up in every design decision.

Fiduciary-grade by default

Every AI output is source-tagged. Every decision stays with the human. The platform enforces the same compliance requirements its users answer to.

Rigor beneath the surface

Monthly-resolution cash flow modeling, constrained optimization, state-space event-boundary detection. Depth you rarely have to see — available when the committee asks.

Operational, not academic

Institutional LPs live in workflows, not models. The platform is organized around what you actually do Monday morning — sourcing, diligence, monitoring, reporting.

Open-source where it matters

The AI runs on Qwen 2.5 14B, self-hostable. Portfolio data doesn't need to leave your infrastructure for AI to be useful. Commercial providers are opt-in per client.

Team

PrivateMetrics Group is a practitioner-led team. The platform draws on more than a decade of production experience building institutional fund-modeling and risk-analysis infrastructure, and the team is growing as the design-partner program expands.
